Responsible for scientific leadership and administrative oversight of three scientific branches: the Atherothrombosis and Coronary Artery Disease Branch, the Heart Development and Structural Diseases Branch, and the Heart Failure and Arrhythmias Branch. The Adult and Pediatric Cardiac Research Program oversees an extramural funding commitment of over $750 million annually, including a broad range of basic, translational, and clinical cardiovascular research, including heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiac development, and congenital and acquired pediatric cardiac conditions.

Responsible for oversight of the Bench to Bassinet pediatric cardiovascular translational program, which includes the Cardiovascular Development Consortium, the Pediatric Cardiac Genomics Consortium, and the Pediatric Heart Network. Direct oversight since 2001 as the Project Scientist for the Pediatric Heart Network, a multi-center clinical research consortium.
